 The Lennox Island Development Corporation(LIDC) is a commercial corporate entity owned by the Lennox Island First Nation (LIFN).
Lennox Island Development Corporation has a mandate to identify, prospect, develop, and commercialize business opportunities for the First Nation.
LIDC vigorously creates or pursues and captures profit making business initiatives for the benefit of all Lennox Island First Nation band members.
Enhancement of the socio-economic fabric of the Lennox Island First Nation is the core goal of the Development Corporation. Creating income and
"own-source revenues" provides resources and profits which are utilized to improve and expand community infrastructure, quality of life, and services
provision to all community members.
 LIDC has established various business ventures which provide jobs, incomes, and profits for reinvestment to expand the development model.
LIDC establishes commercial business ventures on its own and invests and partners with others to form joint venture enterprises. Whether LIDC is
the sole owner of an established venture or an equity partner investor in larger projects - the goal remains constant - that of providing
"return on investment" income to the LIFN.
The present portfolio of business ventures includes enterprises in fisheries, seafood processing, cultural & eco-tourism, property
management, natural products research facilities, commercial real estate and rental property holdings, public utilities, aquaculture and health care.
