Lennox Island, located in the waters of Malpeque Bay in the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada, is a Mi'kmaq community of about 400 inhabitants.

Lennox Island Aboriginal Ecotourism (LIAE), established in 1999, exists to develop and support tourism on Lennox Island First Nation in a manner that is responsible to the local environment and culture. LIAE manages several facilities that attract visitors from around the world to learn about Mi'kmaq culture in its natural setting.

Here in the beautiful setting of Lennox Island, we host both casual visitors and organised groups. Please explore further to learn more about what we have to offer.

  1. The Lennox Island Ecotourism Complex, which houses:
  2. The Lennox Island Mi'kmaq Cultural Centre, a community Museum where visitors learn about Mi'kmaq Culture and history first hand.
  3. The Path of Our Forefathers, a stacked loop nature trail that leads walkers through the forests and along the shores of Lennox Island. It has loops offer walking distances of 3 or 10 km. It features interpretive signage about local and Mi'kmaq history.
  4. Malpeque Discoveries - workshops that provide great, hands-on opportunities to learn about Mi'kmaq history, culture, arts & crafts, music, cuisine etc. For a sample agenda, please see the Malpeque Discoveries section.
