Lennox Island Recreation Notice

Bike Trip

Last year, myself and 5 other youth biked across PEI via the trails in 3 days. It was a great accomplishment, but this year I am considering doing a trip early summer from Confederation Bridge to Caribou, NS and cross the ferry to Wood Islands and return to the Confederation Bridge. I guestimate that this will take around 5 days.

Youths / adults who think that they would like to participate in this little trip should contact me ASAP.

As this trip will be primarily on the side roads and not on a trail like last year, and be much longer in duration, I will only accept responsible, mature and capable participants.

We carried all our own gear, slept in tents and biked 10 to 12 hours per day. So, now that you know what to look forward to...are you still up for it? If so give me a call.

Flag Football

I am looking at setting up a flag football team for youth ages 10 - 15 years old for the late summer and fall.

Please contact me if you interested in coaching or playing.

Citizen of the Year

Start thinking of who you would like to nominate for youth or citizen of the year from Lennox Island for Canada Day.

Drop off any nominations(a paragraph or two about what makes you feel this individual deserves recognition) at the Band Office with the receptionist upstairs.

Lennox Island Judo Club hosted a tournament on Saturday March 5th, the 3 other clubs from PEI (Kensington, Charlottetown and Summerside) came and participated in the once a year tournament for kids. Many Thanks to all those who came to support our competitors and volunteered to help run scoreboards and head tables. With over 50 participants and some 70 spectators it made for quite an enjoyable event.

The Lennox Island Judo Club will be ending practices in late May and restarting in September when school starts up. Until then we have numerous tournaments to attend such as the Atlantics (Port Hawksberry, NS), Eastern Canadians (Fredericton, NB), and the BLMT (New Galsgow, NS).
